Leaf Scrumbles

Does this look familiar?

Freestyle Vest

Freestyle Vest

This is my blue freestyle vest laid out on the spare bed. It has looked much the same for since July when I moved it from the dining room table so I could eat in comfort. So it was about time to knit some more scrumbles. I found a leaf pattern (free on ravelry) and started knitting, making one in each color.

Since July I have added a couple more yarns. Originally, I was only using yarns I bought in Chapel Hill in 2007, but this summer I knitted two further blue projects and decided to include the yarn from my first socks and from the fluttery top.

These will be distributed though out the vest to fill in small gaps.  I still need some larger scrumbles for some of the bigger gaps, but I now have a deadline.  The spare bed, on which the vest rests, is needed by the end of April! Perhaps the vest will be completed in time for me to wear it at this year’s Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. Gulp, that is only two and half months away.

Here are some of the leaves in detail:

  1. The leaves look really cool. I think you better get knitting on those scrumbles, if someone needs the spare bed.
