While the leaves have now gone, the berries are still there.

  1. American Beautyberry, correct? It decorates wooded areas in SE Texas, too, although the persistence of the berries through the winter makes me wonder just how appetizing they are to birds.

  2. I think the berries on mine get eaten eventually. I was trying to have a “purple” garden, but this is the only winter purple. I’m just not cut out to be that rigid either.
