Quote Meme

Filed under: Personal — Cat @ 12:25 pm

This is a bit like my Zen quotes, so I think it might fun.

From Janet and others at ScienceBlogs

The rules: “Go here and look through random quotes until you find 5 that you think reflect who you are or what you believe.”

I’ll add: Go with the first five that work for you (i.e., don’t worry about getting global optima).

My five are:
“Strive for excellence, not perfection.” H. Jackson Brown Jr.

“Exit, pursued by a bear” William Shakespeare

“All things are difficult before they are easy” Dr Thomas Fuller

“So long as we live amongst men, let us cherish humanity” Andre Gide

“You have got to discover you, what you do, and trust it” Barbara Streisand

What five did you choose?

  1. I didn’t go to the site you noted (bad Lisa!!) but here is just about my favorite describe me quote, from Walt Whitman’s Song of Myself:

    Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

BTW, this is a long and rather God-Awful poem. I found the quote elsewhere, and when I finally got around to trying to read the poem, I gave up after about 5 pages (remember what I said about long).
