Fresh Twinkies

Filed under: Food, Humor — Cat @ 11:27 am

With my fascination for all things related to Twinkies, I was delighted to see them referenced in Doonesbury this Tuesday.

Twinkies are also mostly indestructable as tested by the TWINKIES project. These are some experiments to try at home.

For my UK readers, Twinkies are little cakes, like a tiny Swiss rolls with a vanilla filling with claims of lasting forever and having no nutritive value at all. Luckily for you, they aren't available in Britain so you don't ever have to try one!

  1. Spy Magazine once did a hilarious article about the indestructibility of Twinkies complete with photos.

  2. Yes – visit the Twinkies project I linked to above. These guys had some serious fun. I haven’t quite worked out whether it would be appropriate to use as a Food Sci lab yet.
