Books of the Month

Filed under: Books — Cat @ 10:46 am

I’ve just finished reading Nick Hornby’s Polysyllabic Spree. It is a great book in which Nick Hornby has taken his essay on books written for The Believer Magazine. He lists both the books he bought and the ones he actually read. Then he writes about them, mildly snarky. His choices are slightly more male and definitely more sport based than I would personally choose, but he reminded me that you can read serious literature as well as new novels. The most important part is that he enjoys good writing. I am going to steal this idea to occassionally write about books and other printed writing here. Obviously, I won’t write as well NH.
Then this morning I found out, from science blogs, on that is January has been declared National Just Read More Novels Month.

So there I have even more excuses to read fiction and literature and ignore science. I’ll let you know what I decided to read and what I think about it next month. As obviously I will be too busy reading this month.
